The IMO is the one the ship broadcasts over AIS, a listing may postdate the sighting, and a sighting includes anchorages and canal or strait queues, so it is not proof of a port call. Open a vessel for its full screening record.

Between 29 Apr 2026 and 5 Aug 2026, ArcNautical's AIS feed observed 279 distinct vessels at Zeebrugge, with Cargo making up 46% of those with a ship-type code — higher than the North Sea regional average of 40%. Zeebrugge in Belgium sits in one of the most heavily trafficked maritime zones in the world — the gateway to Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, and Bremerhaven. Traffic density in the Dover Strait alone exceeds 500 movements per day, and the Traffic Separation Schemes managed jointly by UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Scandinavia impose strict routing constraints. Collision risk, grounding in shallow waters, and encounters with offshore wind farms and oil and gas platforms are persistent concerns. PSC inspections under the Paris MOU are rigorous, and vessels with deficiencies face above-average detention rates at North Sea ports. Winter storms (October–March) regularly compress port access windows.
Routed sea distances from Zeebrugge to the principal global hubs, computed by ArcNautical's routing engine — around land and through the canals a ship actually uses, not great-circle.
Our AIS feed observed 279 distinct vessels at Zeebrugge between 29 Apr 2026 and 5 Aug 2026; 269 carry a confirmed AIS ship-type code. The most common categories:

Zeebrugge falls under the Paris MoU. The Paris Memorandum of Understanding does not publish a bulk per-vessel detention CSV. ArcNautical evaluates per-vessel detention probability using flag-state performance (3-year rolling rate from the 2024 Paris MoU annual report), vessel age, deficiency history, and ownership transparency. Paris MoU PSC inspections remain among the most rigorous globally.
